Toddler Daycare in Ajax
A day with room to move and explore
Our toddler childcare program in Ajax is for children aged 18 to 30 months, or about 1.5 to 2.5 years. Days include sensory exploration, stories, music, movement and opportunities to play alongside other children.
Toddlers have lots of options to explore and are still learning how to ask for help. Educators offer simple choices and familiar routines, supporting children as they communicate, explore materials and take part in the group.
Meals, rest and toilet training
Play is balanced with meals, snacks, rest and outdoor experiences when conditions allow. Discuss the current menu, allergies, dietary needs and your child's sleep routine with the centre before starting.
Educators work with families when toilet training, once a child is ready. Share the words and routines you use at home, and ask what spare clothing and supplies to send. Everyday moments also give children practice with washing hands, eating and putting belongings away.

Language, friendships and big feelings
Books, songs and conversations give toddlers repeated chances to hear words and express an idea. Movement and hands-on play offer ways to explore without expecting every child to take part in the same way.
When sharing or transitions are difficult, educators use calm support and age-appropriate guidance. Read about our positive guidance approach and creative learning through art, music and play.

Program Questions
Questions about toddler childcare
Does my toddler need to be toilet trained?
Toilet training is something we work on with families when a child is ready. Tell us where your child is in the process and ask about the room's current routines and supplies before enrolment.
How do you help with toddler drop-off?
Share what comforts your child, familiar words and any recent changes at home. Educators can discuss a consistent goodbye routine and how to keep in touch while your child becomes familiar with the room.
Are meals and snacks provided?
Toddlers receive meals and snacks during the day. Ask to see the current menu and discuss food allergies, dietary requirements and any care plan or documentation needed before your child starts.
When would my child move to preschool?
Our preschool program is for ages 2.5 to 4 years. Talk with the centre about the appropriate transition, available space and how information about your child's routines will be shared.
