A summer childcare program for ages 4 to 12

Tender Years offers summer childcare in Ajax for children aged 4 to 12. The full-day program includes outdoor play, sports, arts and crafts, science activities and team games, with experiences adapted for different ages.

If you are comparing summer care options, start with the dates and hours your family needs. Tell us your child's age, interests and any support needs so we can discuss the program and current availability.

Outdoor play, making and discovery

Weekly themes offer starting points for creative projects and group activities. Children have opportunities to try ideas, move, make things and spend time with other children. The day's plans depend on the group, weather and suitable conditions.

Ask the centre for the upcoming summer plan, including any proposed excursions. Trip destinations, transport, permission requirements and any additional costs need to be confirmed before booking. You can also explore creative learning at Tender Years.

Confirm dates, meals and what to bring

Ask for the current summer start and end dates, closure days and attendance options. Regular centre hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; confirm the hours that apply to your summer booking.

Before the first day, request the supply list and details of meals and snacks for the booked program. Discuss allergies, medication arrangements, outdoor clothing and anything educators should know about your child. Annual activities and packing needs can change.

Summer fees and enrolment enquiries

Ask the centre for current summer fees and what is included. CWELCC does not automatically apply to every summer place or every child aged 4 to 12. Confirm eligibility for the specific age and program using the centre's advice and Durham Region's CWELCC information.

Tender Years is at 338 Rossland Rd E, Ajax. Call (905) 683-2559 with the summer dates you need, or send us an enquiry. An enquiry does not reserve care. For term-time arrangements, explore before and after school childcare.

When does the summer program run?

Contact the centre for the upcoming summer's opening and closing dates, holiday closures and available attendance options. Confirm the dates you need before making arrangements; a previous year's schedule may change.

Is summer care offered for younger children?

This summer program is listed for ages 4 to 12. For a younger child, ask about the appropriate infant, toddler or preschool program and availability for the dates you need.

Are excursions part of every summer booking?

Excursions may be part of a summer plan, but no particular trip is guaranteed here. Ask for the current activity schedule, family permission process, travel arrangements and any charges.

How can I prepare my child for summer care?

Share your child's interests, routines and support needs with the centre. Ask for the current supply list, meal arrangements, arrival and pickup process, and how families will receive program updates.
