Before & After School Care Ajax | Tender Years Childcare

Care around your child's school day

Tender Years provides before and after school childcare in Ajax for children aged 4 to 12. The program offers a place to reconnect with friends, choose activities and get support with homework when needed.

Tell us your child's school, grade and the days and times you need care. Supported schools and travel arrangements must be confirmed with the centre before you plan school drop-off or pickup around this program.

Activities, homework and time with friends

School-age experiences include arts and crafts, science activities, games, sports and outdoor play. Educators support group projects and friendships while giving children opportunities to make choices and follow their interests.

Homework help is available when needed. Speak with educators about what your child is working on and the support you are looking for. Ask about the daily routine and snacks for your child's attendance schedule.

School schedules, PA days and breaks

The centre's regular opening hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Before and after school care takes place around the school day; those opening hours do not mean school-age children attend for a full day on instructional days.

Full-day care may be offered on PA days, March break and winter break. Confirm the specific dates, hours, fees and space with the centre. For the summer holiday, see our summer childcare program.

School-age fees and availability

Ask for fees for your child's age and schedule. Tender Years participates in CWELCC, but eligibility is age and program dependent and does not cover every child aged 4 to 12. Read Durham Region's CWELCC guidance and ask the centre to confirm what applies.

We are at 338 Rossland Rd E, Ajax. Call (905) 683-2559 with your child's school and requested start date. You can send us an enquiry and review Durham's separate child care fee subsidy. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee a place or transportation.

Which Ajax schools do you serve?

Contact the centre with your child's school and grade. We need to confirm whether the school is currently supported, the available care times and any transportation arrangements before enrolment.

Is school pickup or transportation included?

Do not assume transportation is included in a place or fee. Ask the centre to confirm pickup and drop-off arrangements, who is responsible for each part of the journey and any associated cost.

Can my child attend on PA days or school breaks?

Full-day care may be available on PA days, March break and winter break. Confirm the dates and booking arrangements with the centre; school closures and centre closures may differ.

Can a child in kindergarten attend?

The published program age range is 4 to 12 years. For a kindergarten child, share their school and schedule so we can confirm suitability, care arrangements, fees and availability.
