Care shaped around your baby

Tender Years Childcare offers infant care from birth to 18 months at 338 Rossland Rd E in Ajax. Educators get to know your baby's cues and routines, with time for close connection, floor play and rest throughout the day.

Starting daycare brings practical questions as well as feelings. Tell us how your baby settles, what feeding looks like at home and anything you would like educators to understand. We can discuss the transition and your preferred start date together.

Feeding, sleep and everyday care

Feeding, diapering and sleep follow each baby's needs within the centre's care policies. Before enrolment, discuss bottles, milk or formula, starting solids, allergies and what supplies to bring. Ask to review the infant sleep policy and how sleep checks are recorded.

The infant room has a separate sleep space. Familiar home routines help educators understand your baby, while sleep arrangements must also meet Ontario's requirements. Families receive updates about care and activities through Lillio, our parent app, and in conversation with educators.

Early learning through play

Songs, books, movement and sensory exploration offer babies ways to notice sounds, reach for objects and interact with an educator. Experiences change with the children in the room. Outdoor experiences are planned around individual routines, weather and suitable conditions.

Our approach is guided by Ontario's How Does Learning Happen?, which focuses on relationships, well-being, participation and expression. See our centre photos before arranging a visit.

Infant care hours, fees and next steps

Regular centre hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Confirm your attendance schedule and closure dates with us. Tender Years participates in CWELCC; ask for the current infant fee and what it includes. Durham Region explains CWELCC eligibility.

Call (905) 683-2559 with your baby's age, preferred start date and care needs, or send us an enquiry. Availability depends on the program and requested date; an enquiry does not reserve a place. For the next age group, explore toddler childcare.
